In this post, we will share a collection of wonderful angel poems with you. If you want to be motivated and inspired to do greater things, these lovely angel poems will urge you to be the greatest incarnation of yourself and to offer your love to those you care about.
An angel is a God-sent envoy who is graphically portrayed as a feathered human. Angels are represented as mediators between God and mankind in most faith systems. They serve the gods by guiding people down the correct road and motivating individuals to do good in their lives.
When you are in distress, you must call your angels for assistance and attempt to conjure your holy communion. They will always be there to aid you if you have faith. A guardian angel watches over and safeguards you at all times.
These poems about angels will also let your loved ones know that you will always be there for them like their guardian angels.
Angels assist us in a variety of ways. God sent His angels onto us in order for them to inspire and assist us. They look over us, fight to defend us, express God’s word to us, and are present in our lives in a variety of other ways.
Despite the fact that they just words, most individuals find solace in these poems. We may support one other by sharing these angel poems with our friends and family. Let us now go over the poems we chose for you.

1. The Angel
by William Blake
I dreamt a dream! What can it mean?
And that I was a maiden Queen
Guarded by an Angel mild:
Witless woe was ne’er beguiled!
And I wept both night and day,
And he wiped my tears away;
And I wept both day and night,
And hid from him my heart’s delight.
So, he took his wings, and fled;
Then the morn blushed rosy red.
I dried my tears, and armed my fears
With ten-thousand shields and spears.
Soon my Angel came again;
I was armed, he came in vain;
For the time of youth was fled,
And grey hairs were on my head.
2. I Heard an Angel
by William Blake
I heard an Angel singing
When the day was springing,
‘Mercy, Pity, Peace
Is the world’s release.’
Thus, he sung all day
Over the new mown hay,
Till the sun went down
And haycocks looked brown.
I heard a Devil curse
Over the heath and the furze,
‘Mercy could be no more,
If there was nobody poor,
And pity no more could be,
If all were as happy as we.’
At his curse the sun went down,
And the heavens gave a frown.
Down pour’d the heavy rain
Over the new reap’d grain …
And Miseries’ increase
Is Mercy, Pity, Peace.
3. Paradise Lost
by John Milton
Th’ infernal Serpent; he it was whose guile,
Stirred up with envy and revenge, deceived
The mother of mankind, what time his pride
Had cast him out from Heaven, with all his host
Of rebel Angels, by whose aid, aspiring
To set himself in glory above his peers,
He trusted to have equaled the Most High,
If he opposed, and with ambitious aim
Against the throne and monarchy of God,
Raised impious war in Heaven and battle proud,
With vain attempt. Him the Almighty Power
Hurled headlong flaming from the ethereal sky,
With hideous ruin and combustion, down
To bottomless perdition, there to dwell
In adamantine chains and penal fire,
Who durst defy the’ Omnipotent to arms …?
4. An Angel in the House
by Leigh Hunt
How sweet it was, if without feeble fright,
Or dying of the dreadful beauteous sight,
An angel came to us, and we could bear
To see him issue from the silent air
At evening in our room, and bend on ours
His divine eyes, and bring us from his bowers
News of dear friends, and children who have never
Been dead indeed, – as we shall know forever.
Alas! we think not what we daily see
About our hearths, – angels that are to be,
Or maybe if they will, and we prepare
Their souls and ours to meet in happy air; –
A child, a friend, a wife whose soft heart sing
In unison with ours, breeding its future wings.
5. The Boy and the Angel
by Robert Browning
And in his cell, when death drew near,
An angel in a dream brought cheer:
And rising from the sickness drear
He grew a priest, and now stood here.
To the East with praise he turned,
And on his sight the angel burned …
6. The Angel in the House
by Coventry Patmore
Man must be pleased; but him to please
Is woman’s pleasure; down the gulf
Of his condoled necessities
She casts her best, she flings herself.
How often flings for nought, and yokes
Her heart to an icicle or whim,
Who’s each impatient word provokes
Another, not from her, but him;
While she, too gentle even to force
His penitence by kind replies,
Waits by, expecting his remorse,
With pardon in her pitying eyes;
And if he once, by shame oppressed,
A comfortable word confers,
She leans and weeps against his breast,
And seems to think the sin was hers;
Or any eye to see her charms,
At any time, she’s still his wife,
Dearly devoted to his arms;
She loves with love that cannot tire;
And when, ah woe, she loves alone,
Through passionate duty love springs higher,
As grass grows taller round a stone.
7. Angel or Demon
by Ella Wheeler Wilcox
You call me an angel of love and of light,
A being of goodness and heavenly fire,
Sent out from God’s kingdom to guide you aright,
In paths where your spirits may mount and aspire.
You say that I glow like a star on its course,
Like a ray from the altar, a spark from the source.
Now list to my answer; let all the world hear it;
I speak unafraid what I know to be true:
A pure, faithful love is the creative spirit
Which makes women angels! I live in but you.
We are bound soul to soul by life’s holiest laws;
If I am an angel – why, you are the cause.
As my ship skims the sea, I look up from the deck.
Fair, firm at the wheel shines Love’s beautiful form,
And shall I curse the barque that last night went to wreck,
By the Pilot abandoned to darkness and storm?
My craft is no stauncher, she too had been lost –
Had the wheelman deserted, or slept at his post.
8. On Angels
by Czesław Miłosz
All was taken away from you: white dresses,
wings, even existence.
Yet I believe you,
messengers.
There, where the world is turned inside out,
a heavy fabric embroidered with stars and beasts,
you stroll, inspecting the trustworthy seams.
Short is your stay here:
now and then at a matinal hour, if the sky is clear,
in a melody repeated by a bird,
or in the smell of apples at the close of day
when the light makes the orchards magic.
They say somebody has invented you
but to rue this does not sound convincing
for humans invented themselves as well.
The voice–no doubt it is valid proof,
as it can belong only to radiant creatures,
weightless and winged (after all, why not?),
girdled with the lightning.
I have heard that voice many a time when asleep
and, what is strange, I understood more or less
an order or an appeal in an unearthly tongue:
day draws near
another one
do what you can.

1. Fallen Angel
by Anonymous
I used to be a fearless angel,
With a halo and I could fly.
But you took my wings away.
So, I cover my wounds and cry.
I try to take to the skies,
But my feet won’t leave the ground.
Look at all of my tears.
As they glisten all around.
My life seems dim and cold.
As my arms reach out for you.
All alone in a darken corner.
With a heart so lonesome and blue.
Awake at morn, tears on my cheeks,
Screaming out your name.
I hate myself for everything.
Even though you’re the one to blame.
So, I guess I’m a fallen angel,
With nowhere left to turn.
My once loving heart
In pain it starts to burn.
2. Humanity
by White Wolf
Shadow not over the words of love
Love is a language known only to the heart
Hear it in the wind and the birds above
Paint it on a canvas skin and call it art
Eternal beauty walks among us all
Seekers of knowledge may know its name
But true wisdom lies in hearing its call
As the oceans cause the moon to wane
Its gentle touch, abundantly crystalline
Euphoric in nature, its secret is kept
With its healing powers all part divine
Though many an angel from love has wept
Compassion and caring, make love’s trinity
And kindness a guide that leads to bliss
So, make love your one and true reality
For you are worth much more than this
3. Stepping into heaven
by liam mcdaid
Under your heavenly gaze magic appears perfect
a thousand whispers sail through the oceans current
each wave warmly echoes of a sun filled promise
Our time is held when precious jewels they glimmer
every breath gasp breathless holding dearest soul
where the silken ribbons circle around a gift tied
wrapped within angel rays floating inside heartbeats
4. An Ode to the Angel of Death
by Robert Valentine
What manner of an angel be?
my love, who standeth here?
Such beauty did I never see
in any Earthly year.
What mighty magic has she cast
to make me love her so,
that if I should for aeons last,
still with her I shall go?
What wonders lay beneath her breast
and weigh my heart like stones?
These eyes of mine did never rest
on any sweeter bones.
What better end have I to meet
than ‘fore my Lady break me
to lift me in her embrace sweet
and to her darkness take me?
5. Snow Angels
by Tim Smith
Here I lie in the solace of my bed
Wrapped up in these sheets of grey
Looking out past the frosted glass
Out into the pitch dark of night
Oh, the white puffs falling down
Little cotton balls so fluffy
So pure
Blanketing the barren ground
Brightening up the darkened night
Remembering our time together
those little snow ball fights
you putting snow down my back
you’re first snow angel
How I want those days back
Here I lie in the solace of my bed
wondering
could you?
would you?
Still be mine
I know it feels right
Only time will tell
if you’ll be my snow angel
6. Breath of Love
by Andrea Dietrich
In autumn’s wind, I look up to the sky.
How sweet the breath of love upon my face!
In rustling leaves, I hear you softly sigh;
in autumns wind, I look up to the sky
and see what time and death cannot erase. . .
In guise of sun’s bright rays, you are nearby!
In autumn’s wind, I look up to the sky.
How sweet the breath of love upon my face!
7. The Cemetery Was
by Arthur Vaso
The cemetery was
Before my very eyes, stillness
Autumn leaves a blanket on the dead
The cemetery was
There, as it always was there
From childhood till now
The cemetery was
For me, my escape, comfort and refuge
Among the strangers and the dead
The cemetery was
My pathway to the heavens
The gateway to my dreams
The cemetery was
Until that one fateful day
My sanctuary
The bullet wasn’t even meant for you my love
You are dead none the less, beneath me
I, who weeps at your grave, lifeless too
Now the cemetery is my hell
Tormented by what ifs
I breathe the autumn frost only
That one day
Our daughter will become
You
8. Life Is for The Living
by Daniel Turner
Today another angel got her wings
Promoted for a job well done on earth
Rejoice! In heaven, all the angels sing
His grace has filled her with angelic mirth
Though quickly earth reclaims the pyre’s ash
How swift the ceaseless seasons of the sun
Grief fades and loneliness becomes the lash
A harsh reminder of that special one
But in our times of sad and dark despair
Our angel fans the dying flame of love
No longer suffering, her joy she shares
Reminding us she’s waiting up above
This life is for the living, not the dead
Our day will come, when no more tears are shed
9. Stand Guard True Angel
by Charlie Smith
As we worship, bring the silence
in gracious peace ring down the day.
Stay the light that’s stained with violence,
deliver calm, pass ill storms away.
Send to us your guileless servant,
pure of faith and stainless heart.
Confer to him a truce so verdant
with joyous love and hope impart.
Stand guard against faults that rage
and spare less fortune from the cold.
Lift these hearts, fallen, fled with age
and never loose us from your hold.
Share with us your saving Grace
with harmony that men embrace.

1. The White Feather
by Ernestine Northover
A pure white feather floats silently towards the ground.
As it lands, I pick it up,
and rest it gently in the palm of my hand.
Perhaps it’s a delicate fragment from an Angel’s wing,
possibly, a token of heavenly love,
or maybe, I see it as my own delight in a gentle white feather.
But as my eyes alight on this fragile plume,
my spirit lifts,
and I have a feeling
that my Guardian Angel is near me,
and is ever watchful.
I believe this perception will always stay with me,
and each time I glimpse a pure white feather
I will offer thanks to my
imperceivable protector.
2. What Survives
by Rainer Maria Rilke
Who says that all must vanish?
Who knows, perhaps the flight
of the bird you wound remains,
and perhaps flowers survive
caresses in us, in their ground.
It isn’t the gesture that lasts,
but it dresses you again in gold
armor –from breast to knees–
and the battle was so pure
an Angel wears it after you.
3. In Twinkling Delight
by Dr. Antony Theodore
The soft moonbeams
fell in love with the earth.
I see in my dreams,
how the moonlight hugs
the earth in intimate love.
The angel of love pours down
the stardust in inexpressible love.
In twinkling delight,
my heart jumps for joy.
4. A Beautiful Sight
by Kasia Fedyk
A Beautiful sight, I’ve seen it once.
In a lonely white room
with a bed and a small chair,
table on three feet in a corner holding a bouquet
fortifying the air with the scent of roses
window, a small, round window
in the middle of the pale wall,
exposing messages from up above
in a form of snowflakes, falling so slowly,
a white dove sat on the ledge.
A man was fighting for his life
machine pumping air into his lungs
in a constant steady motion.
~A beautiful sight
Angel wings spread across the bed
hovering over the man’s body, healing it,
feeding his soul
with heavenly aroma,
the smiling Angel kissed his forehead
and told me it will be back tomorrow.
5. The Angel’s Kiss
by Banjo Paterson
An angel stood beside the bed
Where lay the living and the dead.
He gave the mother — her who died —
A kiss that Christ the Crucified
Had sent to greet the weary soul
When, worn and faint, it reached its goal.
He gave the infant kisses twain,
One on the breast, one on the brain.
“Go forth into the world,” he said,
“With blessings on your heart and head,
“For God, who ruled righteously,
Hath ordered that too such as be
“From birth deprived of mother’s love,
I bring His blessing from above;
“But if the mother’s life he spares
Then she is made God’s messenger
“To kiss and pray that heart and brain
May go through life without a stain.”
The infant moved towards the light,
The angel spread his wings in flight.
But each man carries to his grave
The kisses that in hopes to save
The angel or his mother gave.
6. An Angel Cries
by Dave Alan Walker
Looking down on a world
of violence and spite
an angel cries
Cries for the children
in a nation of fears
Cries for the people
who should have been their savior?
How can civilization
live like this
This was god’s creation
not gods’ damnation
An angel cries

1. Feathers
by Anonymous
Someone once said;
feathers are a sign,
that the angels
are nearby.
It is true.
With the feathers
that we find,
they are showing
us their protection.
Silently following
our steps,
revealing their presence,
by leaving feathers
near us.
So, whenever you are
feeling down or worried;
be sure that your
guardian angel is always
spreading the wings
around you…
Look closely,
and you will
find a feather.
Near you.
Your guardian angel is
telling you this;
you are not alone.
I’m watching over you.
Always.
2. What Would This Old Hag Know?
by Caren Krutsinger
He is around you now, the wizened woman said.
She had blue and purple hair, and she looked a hundred.
The lines in her face were crisscrossing like a pie that fell.
What would she know, this woman who professed to know?
Who is it? I asked, fearful that it might be my angry uncle.
It is a young boy, she said, about nine. He has caramel skin.
A bad guess if she was guessing as I am pasty white like glue.
And dark eyes, she told me; I think his name is Little Wolf.
My ears perked up like my German Shepherd’s ears
When he hears the truck of an Amazon delivery truck.
Little Wolf was the name of my imaginary friend
When I was three or four.
He had seemed real to me then.
Now at sixty-nine, I had almost forgotten him.
He is your guardian angel, she told me.
He helps you do the right thing.
She had credence now.
I saw wisdom in her eyes.
Her highway lined face changed to kind.
I was convinced.
3. Guardian Angel
by Elda Mengisto
You run down the cobblestones, covered in waning moonlight,
and I marvel at your form.
The drapes of your dress fly across;
they are even lighter than your wings
dripping feathers like a well
losing the last clear drops of water.
I do not rush towards you;
I cross my legs on the bench,
and my black, mesh skirt folds right over my legs.
But I long for nothing–
just for comfort.
We always find ourselves naked–
but for whom do we stand before?
You know my heart remains resolute through
the secret garden of delights;
the orchids turned to ice
and they have not tempted me tonight.
But where were you when the frost came
and killed those fresh cherries
before I could eat them?
You thought of giving up flight
So, you could give something to the ordinary.
I drip in sweat, but dew drops my eyes.
I cannot wait for morning,
for I will wrap myself up again,
a present to the fall which persists through our wishes
and keeps itself in a stasis.
And yet you build yourself a fire,
so that you may conjure the light again,
so, you may purge yourself of the right
to self-indulge in what you’ve sinned against.
Come onto me tonight, for the moon will fade,
and only the clouds will watch over us.
We need to stifle our worst fears,
for God values our tears above all,
but they will not crystalize for our protection-
they remain to resemble our sorrows.
Light all the candles on the boulevard,
for one day, the streetlamps will burn out
and the only way to buy fruit
is to hold the other’s hand.
4. Faith in Guardian Angel Voices
by Caren Krutsinger
there was the voice again
insistent and intense
inside my head
but not derived from me
brought by an unknown source
go to the library
take your book back
my book is already late
taking it back after hours makes no sense
however….
I have heard the voice before
Slam on your brakes NOW!
and it has saved my life
at least twice
maybe three times
I had bathed three little girls
my back was breaking
all I wanted to do was sit in a chair
it was nine p.m.
Take that book back! NOW!
I asked my husband to take it for me
You have to pay the fine anyway, take it back tomorrow
My faith in the voice was soul felt.
I took the library book back.
Seventeen preteen and teen girls were in the library parking lot, lost.
They were from a small town, and they had no idea how to get back to their buses
Worried sponsors would be looking for them.
Seventeen lost girls.
“Get in!” I said.
I hit the unlock button, and they piled in the biggest station wagon on the planet.
I took them back to their buses where ten worried adults were staring into space.
Wondering where seventeen lost girls were.
I think their guardian angels had faith that I would hear their plea.
That I would come by myself, a small woman alone, so they would not be frightened.
They had to find a woman who also had a large vehicle.
Their faith in me and mine in them intensified that day in March 1980.
5. I seek an angel
by Anonymous
an angel must have followed me…
I felt a cool wind behind me, like a breeze,
I was cold and lonely, didn’t know I had a journey,
I spent years – just roaming in the streets…
“I never found my destiny” I wrote,
despite confusion and loneliness, my path became clear,
seeking a refuge, a new hope –
somehow…
I learned to strike beyond the reaches of fear.
walking down a rainy dark street… alone,
whenever I just let it go,
an angel, somehow, follows me home…
6. Guardian Angel
by Malia Thackerson
I spread my wings
I spread my tears
I spread my soul to the guardians of the sky’s
I spread my weakness to the son of God
I tell God do not let my fears get to the devil
When my fears get to the devil it stays inside the shadow of darkness
When I go into the darkness
it tends to stay there for the long periods of time
When I can’t get out, I am trapped inside
I tend to pray for a guardian angel to appear inside the darkness
to Help me find my way out and reach out for me
I still tend to get trapped inside this hollow weakness shadow of mine
7. Of This Earth
by Anonymous
I lifted you up
Your feet dragging on the ground
Your strength shows my weakness
Charged with your guidance
I failed
Left in my care
You faltered
Yet, I gave all I had
Powerful wings of God
Could not save me
For I could not save you
From my inadequacies
So, my wings fought
To keep you alive
Fought to raise you
As high as you
Are intended to be
Never realizing
You were bound
To the shadows
Beneath you
Shackled to your pain
I could not forge
The gale force needed
To release you
Left in my care
You faltered
Charged with your guidance
I failed
Punished with wings
That cracked under the pressure
Of showing you
Where you could be
Now, I am here
Ever by your side
Earthbound
Perhaps now
I am strong enough
to carry you
8. An Open Letter to My Guardian Angel…
by Leo Thomas
To my Guardian Angel:
I’ve not seen you or met you,
But you speak to me through my eternal soul,
And I feel your presence, especially during my darkest moments.
What you’ve done for me, no one has ever done for me.
You see my good, my bad and, sadly all too often, my ugly.
But, despite my shortcomings, you love and care for me just the same.
You see through my weaknesses.
You see the wonderful man behind all the faults,
And you love and support me through my best and worst of times.
Yours is the gift of perception given only by God Himself.
I am so grateful for you and your gift, given so freely to me.
I bet the other Guardian Angels taunt and chastise you.
I bet they tell you I’m not worth it or to let me taste my fate.
I know it’s got to be tough standing up for me and for what you believe.
But that’s who you are: always strong, always faithful, always true.
THANK YOU for never giving up on me, even when I angered you.
THANK YOU for seeing the beautiful soul I am as I journey through this life.
THANK YOU for fighting for me when I won’t even fight for myself.
THANK YOU for protecting me and my life.
Everything I am, all that I will ever be, is largely due to you and God.
I’d like to meet you one day,
If for nothing else, but to simply hug you and say THANK YOU.
What an amazing, good, true and faithful servant you are.
What an amazing, good, true and faithful friend you’ve been to me.
Truly, I have been blessed to have you in my life.
Thank for being so very amazing.
Thank you for being such a faithful steward of your God-given gift.
THANK YOU for saving my life…
9. Guardian Angels
by Anonymous
Guardian angel you have the beauty of a heavenly soul
You watch over us from birth ’till we are old.
You silently observe all the action of every day
You are there too when we kneel to pray.
God has ordained a helper for you to be
To bring us back for his face to see.
Our consciousness is our means of awareness of you
Believing in what God has said to be true.
With faith we will be able to receive our reward
And that is to one day come to rest in heaven,
with you and the lord…
10. Angels are watching over you
by Anonymous
God has sent His angels
To gather here on earth
And surround us with their presence
From the moment of our birth
I believe they intercede
And oftentimes appear
To protect us in our time of need
Guardian angels always near
So never fear what lies ahead
As you travel each day through
For there are angels by your side
Watching over you
Beautiful Angel Poems
Angels’ missions can be quite big and have far-reaching consequences for the entire universe.
The angelic mission is sometimes to caution. However, most of the time it is to comfort, to offer some type of compassionate care, or to provide direction in tough situations. Here are some beautiful angel poems for you to check out.
1. My Beautiful Angel
by Michael P. McParland
You my sweet lady are my beloved beautiful Angel,
the crown jewel of my heart and an absolute treasure.
I adore you my darling and long to be with you
holding you so very tightly to thank you
for your prayers and loving strength as I beat off
the last of this headache that without your
prayers and loving warmth could have been
much more painful and excruciating my darling.
You are my beautiful Angel for whom I am so grateful
and the bond that we share is truly the most
wonderful thing along with you that I’ve ever known.
You are my beautiful Angel I continue
in so very many ways to live for.
Knowing that one day soon I’ll be able to hold you
and go for walks, sit with you,
just doing whatever as I hold your hand
and give you sweet kisses straight from my soul.
You are my beautiful Angel I can’t get enough of
and I treasure you deeply as the blessing
and gift from God that you are.
I am so in awe of my sweetie so gorgeous
and I want to spend eternity both of us
side by side never parting ever except to
go out with friends and family for a little while.
I’ll never leave you because you are my sweet,
gorgeous, precious Angel and I just want to
hold you forever and ever.
You are my Angel so very pure and so very beautiful
and I’m reaching out to take your hand
so very kindly, so softly yet firmly, so caring,
and so, reassuring in its pure intent and deep loving.
When we’ve reunited just look in my eyes and see
all of the love that I am holding
and then feel it fill you with peace and complete safety.
I will forever be with because you are my lady
and you truly are my deeply cherished and beloved
beautiful Angel.
2. Angels fly in the sky
by Anonymous
Angels fly in the sky
Not visible and shy
Perform duties on command
Have no desire & no demand
Out of them four are major
Seek to deliver on order
One is for the books
Message to messenger looks
Second is on pouring rains
Earth to fertile for grains
Third is on taking life
Without weapon or knife
Fourth is ready with sure
To destroy earth to sky sure
3. Angel
by Anonymous
I swear I saw wings flapping
Beautiful, feathery, white
I swear I saw him fly away
Surrounded by a golden light
I swear somebody saved my life
But no one was around
I swear the person who saved me
Didn’t travel by ground
I swear it’s a Guardian Angel
I swear he saved my life
And I’ll believe in Angels
Until the end of time.
4. I asked God
by Anonymous
I asked God for a flower
he gave me a bouquet
I asked God for a minute
he gave me a day
I asked God for true love
he gave me that too
I asked God for an angel
he gave me you.
5. Touch of an Angel
by Anonymous
Endless cries of longing
Desires spread to no avail
Lightning strikes a blow of
Heart breaking power
I searched high and low for the remedy
To console my aching
Repeated attempts rendered me in isolation
This virus is eating my soul, my mind
Consuming my will to move on
Held back by thought, images and deeds
Who will cure this empty vessel?
Who will resuscitate my broken heart?
A touch so real, so true
Could drift me to a place unknown
A smile so beautiful, crafted with such precision
The most gentle of touches
Sends a spark reviving the soul
Who would have thought?
It would be a touch of an angel
To bring me back.
6. Angels
by Anonymous
I sit and wait
does an angel contemplate my fate?
and do they know
the places where we go
when we´re grey and old
´cos I´ve been told
that salvation lets their wings unfold
so, when I’m lying in my bed
thoughts running through my head
and I feel that love is dead
I’m loving angels instead
and through it all she offers me protection
a lot of love and affection
whether I’m right or wrong
and down the waterfall
wherever it may take me
I know that life won’t break me
when I come to call, she won’t forsake me
I’m loving angels instead
when I’m feeling weak
and my pain walks down a one-way street
I look above
and I know I’ll always be blessed with love
and as the feeling grows
she breathes flesh to my bones
and when love is dead
I’m loving angels instead
and through it all she offers me protection
a lot of love and affection
whether I’m right or wrong
and down the waterfall
wherever it may take me
I know that life won’t break me
when I come to call, she won’t forsake me
I’m loving angels instead.
7. My Star
by Anonymous
When all my dreams had faded away,
when all my thoughts had gone astray
you suddenly came to rescue me,
and brought me back to where I should be
you help me reach the unreachable star,
and heal my heart from a previous scar
you added and strengthened my confidence,
you held me up to reach the heavens
It was indeed great and amazing!
I had everything I want but something’s still missing
I looked at you then I knew,
you’re all I need and all my dreams will come true
but I realize you are far,
harder to reach than the farthest star
I stepped beak and I fall,
I thought you’d catch me, so your name I call
Sad to know you weren’t there,
in my lonely nights and great despair
sad to say I could never have you,
because I was careless and my love was so true
and now I’m back to my old sanity,
my fame is in deep vanity
for the man I love had faded away,
and caused my thoughts to go astray!
8. Love Specter
by Anonymous
I wander around to these lethal wounds
A reverie for my half-awakened soul.
I rise to the coffin I used to lie
Living my soul in the grave, I sigh.
I taste the color of the night
Nearly touching the warmth of your sight.
My life left buried alive
Without you I can’t seem to survive.
I can no longer walk through the path where you go
Dying to say that I love you so.
I started to breathe through your lungs
Mesmerizing the pain from my fangs.
Sitting on the edge of the floor,
Feeling your presence, I open the door.
I thought I was home,
But you’re gone forevermore. . ..
9. Dream
by Anonymous
I was Walking
My hand in His
Floating like an Angel
As he guided us along
Angels we both were
Gliding along
Asleep I was
Now he is gone and i am me again
10. Blinded Eyes
by Anonymous
Little girls are protected
From what mothers believe
To threaten them
But we should be
Protecting them from
The
Little boys
And
Love blinded eyes
Because a hole in the
Heart cannot
Be healed with a kiss
By a mother
As the tears brim in her eyes
You will wish you had helped her
And now she’s gone
Because you did not give her the light
Of day
And now her day has come
And gone away
Angel Poems for Her
If you’re looking for lovely poetry that will inspire and motivate you to achieve better in life, I highly urge you check out these beautiful angel poems for her.
1. My Angel
by Anonymous
You are my Angel,
Watching me above.
You are my Angel,
It’s you I love.
You are my Angel,
I never doubt you.
You are my Angel,
I love you true.
You are my Angel,
Never in the wrong.
You are my Angel,
Love is lifelong.
I won’t even doubt,
That you never hear my shout.
My wishes, prayers and dreams,
All my tears and screams.
You have carried me along,
Even when I’m in the wrong.
You have held my hand,
But now I must stand.
You taught me words,
The calls of birds.
You never said a letter,
Still, you taught me to be better.
You never showed me,
What life could be.
You only showed me,
What I could achieve.
I look up to a star,
And wish you weren’t so far.
Because nobody can know,
That I can’t let go.
I need you Granddad,
Take away all the bad.
I know you can’t say it’s alright,
But it’s written in the clouds tonight.
I love you,
I love you true.
You love me,
How more perfect can this be?
Because you’re not with me, but you’re here.
2. Only You
by Anonymous
It is so dark and dead
Every moment I open the pages of my past
There is something I never understand
like a part of me is yelling for light
But the moment you took that pathway and came in sight
And gave that face that brightened your smile
You filled every bit and tint of my broken memory
And answered the question I’d longed to ask
Then I knew even down the rope of life
A smile costs as much as a life
There were those who left traceable traits in my heart.
Those who left their footprints imprinted like a scar
I thought they would stay but they didn’t
They just faded away
Like the sun at sunset
But you came with your wings of flight
And took me to a land called paradise
If there’s someone who gives life a meaning
And makes me cherish every moment alive
Then it’s you. Only you
3. Right by Your Side….
by Anonymous
I once was here but now I’m gone
I wasn’t here for very long.
You held me close as if you know.
That someday soon I wouldn’t be with you.
No one knows why God called me that day.
But in his arms, I now must stay.
But I’m still here right by your side
and in my heart, I feel your pride.
I miss you all everyday
but in this place, I now must stay.
But don’t feel sad as I’m not far
I’m in the wind the sun and that shining star.
So, mummy and Daddy please
don’t cry as I’m always here right by your side.
Always with you!
4. The Angel
by Anonymous
I saw an angel today,
she was looking so catchy in a multicolored dress,
her lips like real crystal,
her eyes a clear blue,
her nose a pointed carved monument
her hair a creamy honey brown.
she was walking down the road
like a model going down the cat walk
she wore a captivating smile
strong enough to bring down the ‘the carriers’
I stopped dead in my tracks, amused by this capitalistic being,
What an angel” I thought, I wish I were her
5. Angel Eyes
by Anonymous
With a heart of gold, and a look so nice,
I met a girl who had angel eyes.
Her smile so precious like a jewel on a crown,
And her eyes so deep, in which many have drowned.
She looks so pure as the morning dew,
As the one’s blessed with her charm, in the world are few.
For once in life my hands you hold,
Trust me, we’ll overcome any odd, may how bold.
Your beauty alone is capable to create a fuss,
As an interesting part of fact and fables.
But please don’t devoid us,
From the pleasant charm of an angel.
“You’re so beautiful!”, how loud my heart cries out,
Divine as an angel without any doubt.
6. My Angel, My Girlfriend
by Rick Morley
Some people believe there is one,
The one who points your way to the sun.
A person they believe makes them complete,
The one who will support when facing defeat.
You are my angel, my one and only,
My forever love, so we’ll never be lonely.
You’ve brought to my life all your love and care.
It made me see when I realized how rare
It is to meet your angel, or their lifetime one,
Through you and my children, whose life has begun.
What you’ve done, you’ve illuminated my soul.
It’s you and your love that has made me whole.
The feel of your love, your soft touch and caress,
We’re tight, so close; your heart beats in my chest.
All that we have always felt missing before.
Though I love you today, tomorrow it will be more.
Our love is life; we are the strongest tree,
Which will always grow forever, like you and me.
You have opened my heart and held it so dear.
You are my angel and will always keep it nearby.
You have seen my ups and cared when I was low.
You are my angel; I just need you to know.
You entered my life through a ray of sun above,
And when we leave, we will leave together in love.
My love for you has become my reason to be.
I hope one day you’ll find your angel in me.
7. You’re an Angel
by Isabelle Bryne
You’re an Angel that nobody can see,
Still an Angel is what you are to me
An angel from heaven is what you are
In my sky you’re definably a heavenly star
You’re an angel with beauty & grace
Your kind & sweet, you have an angel face
You have very graceful angel wings
Happiness and joy are just some things
that an angel can give
In my heart & mind is where you’re living
You have hair as soft as the white clouds
A guardian angel is what I’ve gotten.
Your eyes are like sapphires that shine bright.
When everything is dark, you give me light.
You’re an angel that gives me a reason to live,
You’re an angel that teaches me to give.
You’re an angel that teaches me the right things to say.
You’re my angel & I’ll always care.
You’re my angel & you know I’ll always be there.
8. She’s My Angel
by K Gossett
She’s that smile that I need when I’ve had a crummy day.
She’s that rainbow of color when my world has turned gray.
She’s that shoulder I need when I’m up against the ropes.
She’s the one that I turn to when I need that ray of hope.
She’s the candle’s flicker in a room otherwise dark.
She’s lit my soul on fire for her from the very start.
She’s the one I feel at peace with when I’m lying in her arms.
She’s the one who captivates me with all her witty charm.
She’s everything I want and everything I need
She’s every single love song and in every book I read.
Every minute we share together is a minute I’ll always hold tight.
She’s my angel in the morning, afternoon, and night.
She’s not perfect, but to me she’s pretty close.
She’s quick to give an attitude adjustment right when I need it the most.
She’s that star in the sky that is shining brighter than the rest.
She’s that one ounce of encouragement I need to do my very best.
She’s the one who knows me better than anyone else ever could.
She’s the one who loves me even more than she probably should.
She’s got a way of touching my heart like nobody else knows.
She’s the woman I love from the top of her head to the tips of her toes.
She’s everything I want and everything I need
She’s every single love song and in every book I read.
Every minute we share together is a minute I’ll always hold tight.
She’s my angel in the morning, afternoon, and night.
She’s a red sports car, in the summer, running ninety.
She’s forever the one I always want beside me.
She’s all the words I do not say because the words do not come fast enough.
She’s soft, sweet, kind, and sincere, but at times can be very tough.
She’s the most expensive, most precious, priceless work of art.
She’s the one, I swear, I’ll never let go of until death do us part.
She’s absolutely, positively, no doubt about it, my angel from above.
She’s the reason I write this poem to try and express my love.
She’s everything I want and everything I need
She’s every single love song and in every book I read.
Every minute we share together is a minute I’ll always hold tight.
She’s my angel in the morning, afternoon, and night.
9. You Are My Angel
by Anonymous
You are my angel
You came to my rescue
I never thought I would love
Until you came my way
You are my lovely angel
When I need you most?
You are there for me
What would I do without you?
Life is full of ups and downs
At times things don’t go the way we want
Communication is the key
To a happy relationship
We always find our way
Being with you, talking to you
Gives me joy
You are my angel
I will treat you more than a queen
The feeling that I have for you is so strong
This feeling cannot be wrong
Darling, you are my angel.
I love you
10. My Angel
by Jessica Bousfield
My angel is the one who looks over me
My angel is the who cares for me
My angel is the one who loves me
My angel has beautiful brown eyes
My angel has beautiful black hair
My angel will be there when I get hurt
My angel will be the one that is always on my mind
He is the angel that keeps me breathing
He is the angel of my dreams
He is the angel that keeps me alive
My angel will cheer me up when I’m sad
My angel will love me for me
He is my angel of my life
Angel Poems for Him
Another way angels help us is by responding to our needs in a timely manner. You may not know it, but angels have always been around to defend you from wicked individuals, cure you, and bring solutions to problems in your life.
Here are some angel poems for him that you may share with your husband or your boyfriend.
1. Angel in Your Eyes
by Andrea Dietrich
To you who knew me in my youth,
Who spread sweet joy and spoke with truth;
Before you passed to heaven’s skies,
I saw an angel in your eyes.
To you, the stranger that I met,
Who spoke no word of English, yet?
Gave aid to me, you are God’s prize.
There was an angel in your eyes.
To those of you within this place
Whose gifts of words show love and grace,
Though I’ve not faced you, I surmise. . .
There is an angel in your eyes!
2. My Heart Is Meant for You
by Tim Smith
Lights dimmed in a cool marbled hall
a solitary candle flickers
soft chamber music echoes
and my thoughts turn to You
down on my knees
memories come as love has gone
how many times have I begged?
to have a heart to hold
a bond to build
an angel to adore
Again, I beg for the courage
the strength to carry on
to lead
to live
to love
unconditionally
A bright ray of sunshine
filters through the stained-glass window
illuminating your image
heartaches soothe as I take in your essence
and I know
my heart is meant for You
3. My Tears
by Richard Lamoureux
My love for you is magnified
By the curvature of my tears
I’m lost within the corridors
Of my loving you all these years
My tears are not filled with sadness
They are permeated with joy
You have helped me become a man
Who’s connected to inner boy
Within the chambers of my heart
My true self has now been revealed
When you live beside an angel
There is nothing that can’t be healed
I dance within our memories
Anticipate the ones to come
You’re the source of my happy tears
I don’t regret a single one
4. Transformed
by Andrea Dietrich
One summer in a garden at midnight,
I chanced upon an angel standing were
the moon made a mosaic with its light.
He must have come from heaven; oh, how fair
his alabaster skin and eyes of blue!
The guardian of my heart he might be.
How wrong I was! For that which would ensue
was nothing like what he had promised me.
At first his eyes were azure skies until
the dark clouds came; my angel man transformed.
The windows to his soul gave me a chill.
His mind was twisted like a maze. There stormed
inside his body a chimera soul,
for wickedness had swallowed him up whole
5. Angels and Outlaws
by Vince Suzadail Jr.
Come and sit here by the fire
Watch the flickering firelight
Let me touch your lips with mine
Will you keep me warm tonight?
I’ve been here reminiscing
Just feeling kind of sad
Wondering why angels love outlaws
And all the times we had
We’ve been through Hell together
Feeling the pleasure and the pain
Stood side by side against the world
In the sunshine and the rain
Outlaws live their lives on the edge
Their castles built with sand
Why angels fall in love with them
It’s hard to understand
So, while we’re sitting by this fire
And thinking of all the times you cried
This outlaw loves his angel
I want you forever by my side.
6. Listen to Your Heart
by Sunshine Smile
Between the clouds …
It’s called gut feeling for a reason
You made me believe in miracles
Between the clouds …
One of the most profound needs for a
human being is to love and be loved
Between the clouds …
I will always walk by your side
The future is written in our hearts
Between the clouds …
Beauty will never shed a tear or hate
Love is beauty blended with lights of the evening sun
Between the clouds …
Our love is sent from above with angel wings
We’ll never have to wonder …. the sky is always blue
7. Reflections in Twilight
by Winged Warrior
Angels in twilight
Reflections of affections
Dancing in starlight
When angels entwine
Harmonic explosions of devotions
A love divine
When angels embrace
Roses and wine will make you mine
With satin and lace
When angels dance
Starlets on fire with great desire
A burning romance
When angels fly
Dropping wishes of kisses
Amidst the jasmine sky
When angels sing
Humming in orchestral celestial
Vibrations in their wing
When angels dream
Marshmallow clouds over the crowds
Sitting on soft lavish green
When angels cry
Tears of wasted years
Reflections in my eye.
8. Forget Me Not
by Sunshine Smile
If you suddenly forget me
Wherever you are
Close your eyes listen to your heart
Like the wind, you can hear my voice
If you suddenly forget me
Nothing hurts more, but I do not want to cry
Time passes and you feel me in a dream
Always remember the smell of my perfume and my soft lips
If you suddenly forget me
I will never regret loving you
When night comes, and you feel so alone
In peaceful harmony a soft heart sings with angel wings
9. Sweet Dreams My Angel
by Angie Watson
Go to sleep my angel and dream
Of heavenly places and heavenly faces
You shall be missed, my angel but rest in peace
In this world you could easily get hurt
Don’t fret my angel you are safe in God’s arms
He will take care of you
And will always be with you
Mortal dreams of riches, but my angel
You are rich for eternal life
So, sleep now angel you are full of love and beauty
We will all be with you soon
Sweet dreams my angel
When you wake up, you’ll know that
Your dreams have come true

1. Here I am…
by Anonymous
When you feel so down
Here I am can be you friend
When you’re alone & sad
Here I am, call me & I’ll be there
When the world brings you down
Here I am helping you to be strong
When you think all else fails
Here I am encouraging you
When nobody cares about you
Here I am taking care of you most
When everybody left your side
Here I am will never ever leave your side
Here I am always by your side
Here I am cares for you so much
Here I am loving you without hesitation
And here I am can be yours FOREVER
2. Best Friend
by Emile Pinet
There is nothing more heartening than a smile
if you haven’t seen one for a while
you hope it will never end
it’s not just pretended
with a best
friend
it’s no jest
the Lord chose to send
an angel to help you mend
one that does not put love on trial
there is nothing more heartening than a smile
3. Friends Are Angels
by Anonymous
Our friends are like angels
Who brightens our days?
In all kinds of wonderful
Magical ways
Their thoughtfulness comes
As a gift from above
And we feel we’re surrounded
By warm, caring love
Like upside-down rainbows
Their smiles bring the sun
And they fill ho-hum moments
With laughter and fun
Friends are like angels
Without any wings
Blessing our lives
With the most precious things
4. Believe in Angels
by Nicole J. Guyette
Everyone should believe in angels
They surround you everyday
They help and protect you
Love and care for you
They try not to let you down
But even angels make mistakes
Do you believe is angels?
I do
I call them my friends
They do all the things an angel should
They make you laugh when you’re sad
Make you feel better when you’re sick
Stand up for you when you’re tormented
Love you when you feel as if no one does
Doesn’t that sound like an angel
To me it does
Everyone needs an angel
At least one good one
Or your life isn’t complete
And won’t be
Till you find your special angel.
5. Send My Friend an Angel
by Jessica Orrillo
Please send my friend an angel
send her one of mine
a loving and caring one
the best that you can find
Please send my friend an angel
and trust her with its care
someone or something for her to love
and to always be there
Please send my friend an angel
one to help her fill her days
with hope, love, and laughter
and the worth of sunshine rays
Please send my friend an angel
you know she gave me of mine
please send her down an angel
a true friend hard to find
6. Friendship Angel
by Bradley Stewart
When I have no one to turn to
And I am feeling kind of low,
When there is no one to talk to
And nowhere I want to go,
I search deep within myself
It is the love inside my heart
That lets me know my Angels are there
Even though we are miles apart.
A smile then appears upon my face
And the sun begins to shine.
I hear a voice, so soft and sweet
Saying, ‘Everything will be just fine’
It may seem that I am alone
But I am never by myself at all.
Whenever I need my Angels near
All I have to do is call.
An Angel’s love is always true
On that you can depend.
They will always stand behind you
And will always be your friend.
Through darkest hours and brightest days
Our Angel’s see us through
They smile when we are happy, and will cry when we are blue.
Thanks for being my Angel my friend
I will be there for you until the end.
7. Good Friends Are Like Angels
by Sharon Lagueux
Friends Are Sometimes Angels in Disguise
Good friends like the angels
never judge us when we fall
They stand by us in trials
Help us feel like we’re ten feet tall
Friends offer us guidance
Because they simply care
Their joy is lifting us to God
Through faith, hope, and prayer
Friends like the lovely angels
They’re there to dry our tears
They may not understand them
Though offer us a listening ear
Friends are caring and selfless
They put aside their needs
always doing for others
Thoughtful, kind acts and deeds
Good friends are like sunshine
When dark days dull our lives
They radiate God’s light
and make our days more bright
Everyone needs a friend
Someone to hold their hand
Someone we can confide in
Just the way God planned
For angels have been friends
Those who come in disguise
Such is a wondrous blessing
strong the bond, those God ties
So, if you have a good friend
shower on them your love
Let them know they’re special
As the angels way up above
8. Angel
by Anonymous
I have fallen from sky,
Fallen to the ground,
I am the angel of sadness,
Angel of lost hopes,
Angel of lost dreams,
I am the fallen angel,
Fear me not,
I am here for reason,
That reason is to have a second chance in life,
That life I was given for a reason,
They took my wings,
They took me apart made me human,
I was the fallen angel,
But that fallen angel had one chance in life that she was given,
This angel won’t make the same mistakes she made before,
This angel will go down the right path that has been chosen for her,
This fallen angel know what she has to do to be forgiven.
9. My Angel and Friend
by Smile
I never thought that I would find
a friend so great and a friend so kind
I look up to you in every way
cause I learn something from you every day.
Without you I don’t know where I’d be
but you’re still here, friends with me
you deserve so much more than I can give
but without you I wouldn’t live.
You’ve given me more than money can buy
and for you I’d give my all and I would die
This feeling I feel gets stronger every day
hoping not to screw it up, I constantly pray.
I know we have our problems every now and then
but once it’s fixed our friendship is better times ten
and I want you to know that I truly do care
even in fights when I say things that aren’t fair.
You’re an angel from God up above
and I’m thankful for your understanding love
because when you’re around everything seems right
and for you, until the end, I will fight.
It doesn’t matter what you do or say
because you’ll be my friend anyway
I know the real you that’s down deep inside
and in you, I’ll always confide.
Thanks for being the friend you are
you’re my best friend, an angel by far
everything in you is an inspiration to do great
and you’ll be loved by all cause that’s your fate!
So never stop being the real and wonderful you
cause God shines through in all that you do
and whenever it seems like I’m never there
remember this: I love you and I’ll always care!
Angel Poems in English
God, in his profound wisdom and kindness, had gifted Humanity with angels to encourage and aid us through life’s difficulties. I think that these poems about angels watching over you will inspire and motivate you to be a better version of yourself.
1. Wendy’s Angel
by Anonymous
Angels come from above,
to show you God’s eternal love,
They keep you safe from harm,
they surround you with their loving arms.
Just listen with an open car,
and they will calm your every fear,
Have you ever thought you heard?
and angel’s soft and gentle word?
Angels come from above,
to show God’s eternal love.
2. We all have an Angel
by Anonymous
Psychic servant, spiritual guide,
my guardian Angel, you stand by my side.
You give your gifts without a thought,
in whispers and dreams your words are caught.
I remember you when I was a child;
you have always been here inside my mind.
Peaceful and comforting, so loyal and true,
with love and devotion, I give thanks to you.
3. To my Guardian Angel
by Frances Anne Kemble
Merciful spirit! who thy bright throne above
Hast left, to wander through this dismal earth
With me, poor child of sin! —Angel of love!
Whose guardian wings hung o’er me from my birth,
And who still walk’st unwearied by my side,
How oft, O thou compassionate! must thou mourn
Over the wayward deeds, the thoughts of pride,
That thy pure eyes behold. Yet not aside
From thy sad task dost thou in anger turn;
But patiently, thou hast but gazed and sighed,
And followed still, striving with the divine
Powers of thy soul for mastery over mine;
And though all line of human hope be past,
Still fondly watching, hoping, to the last.
4. My Guardian Angel
by Emily Krauss
I have a guardian angel
She watches out for me
during the day
when I like to play
And at night she protects me
Just like a bumble bee
She keeps me safe
And is always near me observing me
No matter what I do
And no matter what time it is
I have a guardian angel
And with my angel by my side
I know I can do anything and everything
I have a guardian angel
And deep down in my heart
I know that you all have a guardian angel
So, let’s all cherish
Are guardian angels
Daily
5. Abou Ben Adhem
by James Henry Leigh Hunt
Awoke one night from a deep dream of peace,
And saw, within the moonlight in his room,
Making it rich, and like a lily in bloom,
An angel writing in a book of gold: —
Exceeding peace had made Ben Adhem bold,
And to the Presence in the room, he said
“What writes thou?”—The vision raised its head,
And with a look made of all sweet accord,
Answered “The names of those who love the Lord.”
“And is mine one?” said Abou. “Nay, not so,”
Replied the angel. Abou spoke more low,
But cheerly still, and said “I pray thee, then,
Write me as one that loves his fellow men.”
The angel wrote, and vanished. The next night
It came again with a great wakening light,
And showed the names whom love of God had blessed,
And lo! Ben Adhem’s name led all the rest.
6. A Daughter Through the Eyes of a Father
by Velmar Pewee Hale Johnson
A daughter is beauty at its finest.
Heart of an angel, soul so pure, and sweet.
Daughters are one of God’s most precious gifts that he has bestowed upon the world.
Angels in Heaven do not compare to thine beauty, and grace my ever so beautiful, and lovely daughter.
Seeing you at birth brought more joy to me
than all the money in the world could ever do.
You are morning, bright, and shining,
you are noon, you reside at the highest point in my heart,
you are the dew kissed night.
You are my daughter, heart, and soul.
7. About Angels and About Trees
by Mary Oliver
Where do angels
fly in the firmament,
and how many can dance
on the head of a pin?
Well, I don’t care
about that pin dance,
what I know is that
they rest, sometimes,
in the tops of the trees
and you can see them,
or almost see them,
or, anyway, think: what a
wonderful idea.
I have lost as you and
others have possibly lost a
beloved one,
and wonder, where are they now?
The trees, anyway, are
miraculous, full of
angels (ideas); even
empty they are a
good place to look, to put
the heart at rest—all those
leaves breathing the air, so
peaceful and diligent, and certainly
ready to be
the resting place of
strange, winged creatures
that we, in this world, have loved.
8. Women Who Love Angels
by Judith Ortiz Cofer
They are thin
and rarely marry, living out
their long lives
in spacious rooms, French doors
giving view to formal gardens
where aromatic flowers
grow in profusion.
They play their pianos
in the late afternoon
tilting their heads
at a gracious angle
as if listening
to notes pitched above
the human range.
Age makes them translucent;
each palpitation of their hearts
visible at temple or neck.
When they die, it’s in their sleep,
their spirits shaking gently loose
from a hostess too well bred
to protest.
9. Questions About Angels
by Billy Collins
Of all the questions you might want to ask
about angels, the only one you ever hear
is how many can dance on the head of a pin.
No curiosity about how they pass the eternal time
besides circling the Throne chanting in Latin
or delivering a crust of bread to a hermit on earth
or guiding a boy and girl across a rickety wooden bridge.
Do they fly through God’s body and come out singing?
Do they swing like children from the hinges?
of the spirit world saying their names backwards and forwards?
Do they sit alone in little gardens changing colors?
What about their sleeping habits, the fabric of their robes?
their diet of unfiltered divine light?
What goes on inside their luminous heads? Is there a wall
these tall presences can look over and see hell?
If an angel fell off a cloud, would he leave a hole
in a river and would the hole float along endlessly
filled with the silent letters of every angelic word?
If an angel delivered the mail, would he arrive
in a blinding rush of wings or would he just assume
the appearance of the regular mailman and
whistle up the driveway reading the postcards?
No, the medieval theologians control the court.
The only question you ever hear is about
the little dance floor on the head of a pin
where halos are meant to converge and drift invisibly.
It is designed to make us think in millions,
billions, to make us run out of numbers and collapse
into infinity, but perhaps the answer is simply one:
one female angel dancing alone in her stocking feet,
a small jazz combo working in the background.
She sways like a branch in the wind, her beautiful
eyes closed, and the tall thin bassist leans over
to glance at his watch because she has been dancing
forever, and now it is very late, even for musicians.
